From grain to cleaner energy.

Centreal Biofuels Limited is developing an integrated grain-based biofuels project in Goa, focused on fuel-grade Ethanol, Extra Neutral Alcohol and approved allied products. The project is being advanced at a defining moment in India’s transition towards cleaner, domestically produced and more sustainable transport fuels.

Through the Ethanol Blended Petrol Programme and the National Policy on Biofuels, 2018, amended in 2022, the Government of India has created a strong policy framework to expand domestic Ethanol production, strengthen energy security, reduce dependence on imported fossil fuels and generate greater value across agricultural supply chains.

India’s achievement of 20% Ethanol blending in petrol during 2025–26—five years ahead of the original target—demonstrates the country’s commitment to building a robust biofuels ecosystem.
